Higher levels survive more damage and bigger logos, but make the pattern denser. Auto picks H when you add a logo.
The Evergreen Promise
Other “free” QR sites quietly give you a trial code that dies when the trial ends, then charge you to bring your printed menus back. We think that’s wrong, so we promise the opposite, in writing.
Read the promise- Free codes never expire. Static codes hold your data directly. They work even if we vanish.
- Paid codes are never held hostage. Cancel Pro and your dynamic codes keep working, frozen on their last link.
- Every design is scan-tested before you download it.
- No cookies, no trackers, no selling data.
How EvergreenQR compares
What you get for free here, versus what’s typical on popular “free” QR sites.
| EvergreenQR | Typical “free” QR site | |
|---|---|---|
| Codes keep working after a trial or cancellation | Yes, always | Often deactivated |
| Signup required to download | No | Often |
| SVG, PDF and EPS vector files | Free | Often paid |
| Scan test before download | Built in | Rare |
| Editable (dynamic) codes | $5/mo, or $79 once | $7–$15+/mo |
| Tracking cookies | None | Common |
Most “free” QR code sites have a catch: they quietly create a dynamic code that stops working when a trial ends, then ask you to pay to bring your printed menus and flyers back to life. EvergreenQR does the opposite. Free codes are static and permanent, and even our paid editable codes keep working if you ever cancel.
Pick what the code should do (open a website, join Wi‑Fi, save a contact, leave a review), style it, and download a print-ready file. Everything happens in your browser.
How to make your QR code
- Choose a content type and enter your link or details.
- Pick a preset or style the pattern, corners, colors, logo and frame.
- Check the Scan Score (aim for Good or Excellent), then download PNG, SVG, PDF or EPS.
Questions, answered
Do these QR codes expire?
No. Static codes made here contain your information directly, so they work forever, even if EvergreenQR disappeared tomorrow. Dynamic (editable) codes are a Pro feature, and they keep working even if you cancel: they simply freeze on their last link.
Is it really free?
Yes. Every design option and every download format (PNG, SVG, PDF, EPS) is free, with no signup and no watermark. We make money from optional Pro features like editable codes, scan stats and bulk export.
What is the Scan Score?
Before you download, we render your design small and slightly blurred, the way a phone camera sees it, and read every module back. The score shows how much of the built-in error correction your design uses. If it is low, the Fix button adjusts colors, logo size or error correction for you.
What size should I print my QR code?
A good rule is 1/10 of the scanning distance: a code scanned from 1 meter away should be about 10 cm wide. For business cards, 2–2.5 cm (about 1 inch) works for short links. The Scan Score panel suggests a minimum size for your design.
Can I use the codes commercially?
Yes. Codes you create are yours to use on packaging, ads, menus, signs and products, with no attribution required.
